Read MoreAdrenal fatigue is often unrecognized. Allopathic medicine doesn't recognize it until it's full-blown (adrenal hypofunction) and it becomes a real problem. For this reason a naturopath may be more helpful than your allopathic doctor in getting to the bottom of your adrenal fatigue.
What is Adrenal fatigue? Adrenal fatigue is a weakening of the adrenal glands due to over stimulation. Adrenal fatigue often proceeds a syndrome such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, post traumatic stress and/or alcoholism. What do all these things have in common?
Adrenal fatigue causes a change in the hormones secreted by your adrenals, including adrenaline and cortisol. The problem is these hormones influences all major physiological processes in your body.
The adrenal glands are known as the glands of stress. Because the adrenals work to help your body cope with stress and survive they must deal with stress from all possible.
From disease, to injury, to relationship problems, your energy and resilience and longevity all depend on your adrenals properly functioning. Sub-par functioning of your adrenals doesn't just put your body at risk, it can also affect the way you feel and think.
Often adrenal fatigue becomes more extreme after significant events such as an accident, surgery, illness or emotional trauma. When you are under pressure your adrenal glands can become over stimulated. Therefore it is helpful to ask yourself questions about the last time you felt well and the circumstances surrounding it.
Were you able to regulate your response to internal and external environment. Or did stressful events overwhelm your fight-or-flight response, one too many times?
Adrenal fatigue symptoms can be exhaustion, nausea, irritability, poor digestion, constipation, diarrhea, excessive tiredness, inability to sleep, or sleeping too much.
Physical symptoms that can be seen on the body are areas that noticeably become bluish black in color such as lips, mouth, vagina. Other symptoms of unexplained diarrhea or constipation increase darkening around the bony areas at folds(?).
Colon hydrotherapy helps clear out the accumulation of waste, parasites, yeast and bacteria. Which takes some of the burden off the adrenals.
You have two adrenals, one on each side of your body. Each adrenal glad is about the size of a walnut and sits on top of your kidneys like a tiny pyramid. They have a effect on the functioning of your tissue and other glands in your body. Yet it can be difficult to decode the delicate balance of your adrenals with a standard blood test. This because Naturopathic and allopathic doctors often read the results of your blood tests differently.
When testing your blood for adrenal fatigue your naturopathic doctor will look for sodium levels of 136 or lower. Your chloride would be less than 101. And your potassium would exceed 4.5. It is possible some values would still be seen as normal by your allopathic doctor, but your naturopathic doctor may not agree.
How Food Can Relieve Your Adrenal Fatigue
But you don't necessarily need to visit the doctor to get to the bottom of your adrenal fatigue. Instead you can modify your diet. That's because the foods you eat can help or increase your adrenal fatigue. If you think that a particular food substance interferes in any way with achieving your optimum health then eliminated those foods immediately.
If you suspect, but do not know which foods or beverages you are allergic, sensitive, or addicted to you than it is important to find out. To do so it is recommended to do an elimination challenge.
After you eliminate foods for a period of time you will need to re-introduce foods. As a food is re-introduced be certain to write down your reactions, if any. It is very important to record your experiences because memory fades. Writing down the foods and beverages you react to will save you from the unpleasant experience of rediscovering your sensitivities over and over again. And aggravating your adrenal fatigue.
Colon Hydrotherapy helps relieve adrenal fatigue by eliminating toxins out of the colon. Some toxins have been sitting in the colon for years, such as residuals from drugs and science foods. Bacteria from these foods can recirculate back into your bloodstream and settle between the tissue and bone.
Toxins in the blood can cause problems, headaches fogginess of the brain and general aches and pains. Colon hydrotherapy helps hydrate the colon. Remove toxins with the cleansing waters. Also hydrotherapy helps relieve the burden of the liver. Often times the liver will release on a second or third session. It's all connected. Our endocrine system, which includes the adrenal glands, need the liver to function at it's best optimal health.
CONCLUSION
The Adrenals are extremely important and all allergies including food allergies and sensitivities escalate the improper function of your adrenals. Stress such as injuries, emotional stress can also compromise your adrenal glands functioning. You can nurture your adrenal glands back to health by slowing down and eating a proper diet.
